“Every energy that exists in the universe exists within you. Instead of trying to understand this vast, beginningless, endless universe, you can study yourself, because you are a miniature universe. Studying yourself can give you a key to the whole of Existence, because you are subject to the same laws and influences as the entirety is.”   — from The Four Relationships by Jon Schreiber

Practicing Breema bodywork and Self-Breema, our body is seen as a laboratory through which we can study ourselves, giving us the possibility of letting go of extra—concepts, judgments, and reactions acquired through the random influences we've been subject to.

Self-Breema exercises teach us body-mind connection through the registration of breath, weight, and movement, giving us support for being present and for studying ourselves in relation to Breema’s Nine Principles. Coming to the present moment, we can taste unity, as body, mind, and feelings work together.

We will learn a variety of Self-Breema exercises, taught by a rotating staff of  Instructors from the Breema Center and around the country.

This free class is offered as part of Santa Cruz Dance Week 2024.

As early as I can remember, I wanted to connect to life through touch, and movement. This interest grew...

Practicing Breema supports my life to come from complication to simplicity. Breema brings me to this moment. This is where I am the most comfortable.

One of the most important aspects of Breema is knowing-by experiencing- that body breathes and body has weight. That is something everyone can do. And by staying with it, the whole of Breema slowly reveals itself.
